Partnership with industry leader expands IMSA’s medical support and incident response.
Daytona Beach, Fla. – The International Motorsports Association (IMSA) announced today that it is partnering with medical transportation leader Global Medical Response (GMR) to expand the capabilities of IMSA’s medical support model. Under a multi-year agreement, GMR’s ground ambulance business, American Medical Response (AMR), will be the Official Emergency Medical Services partner of IMSA’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Michelin Pilot Challenge and Prototype Challenge.
By becoming IMSA’s newest partner, AMR expands its history of delivering EMS services to motorsports sanctioning bodies which also includes NASCAR and IndyCar. Since 2017 AMR has been the provider of on-track EMS services to NASCAR and in 2018 became the official sponsor of the IndyCar Safety Team.
This partnership with IMSA is a continuation of AMR’s long-standing program to provide medical services to sporting events as well as major concert and civic venues across the country. AMR’s commitment to motorsports safety and provision of state-of-the art care is a key example of what is possible by working in conjunction with the various sanctioning groups, tracks and local medical providers.
Global Medical Response will be aligned with all IMSA series competing during IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship events throughout the United States. In addition to enhancing on-track incident response, AMR’s distinguished red, white and blue colors will adorn IMSA’s Track Services vehicles, including two Porsche Cayenne’s and two Chevrolet Silverado’s.
“Global Medical Response companies have a long history of being involved with motorsports through its AMR brand and IMSA is delighted to welcome them as an official partner,” IMSA Vice President, Marketing David Pettit said. “This is an example of another high-profile company joining the ever-growing list of IMSA partners to further their investment in motorsports. This partnership is unique in that it is a two-way agreement. Global Medical Response gains valuable visibility, among other assets, throughout our race weekends while expanding upon the care and services provided to our competitors.”
“We are excited to partner with IMSA, joining an established organization in the field of motorsports,” said Randy Owen, President and CEO of Global Medical Response. “We have been so impressed with what (IMSA President) Scott (Atherton) and team have built and the momentum in the series. This is a great fit to partner with IMSA. Our AMR business is a national EMS leader and has developed unique expertise in event medical services for the racing industry.”
This partnership will provide Global Medical Response with an overarching, year-long, integrated marketing platform, aligning with IMSA’s educated fan base of business decision makers, track promoters, premium corporate partner family, and its 19 automobile manufacturer partners, as well as team owners, drivers and other stakeholders. The company will be able to entertain customers and prospects at-track through IMSA VIP experiences, as well have a branding presence within the IMSA Paddock and across IMSA.com.
